Sensory Tasting with Green River Distillery - Grand Junction

We are excited to host Green River Distillery, from Owensboro, KY to join us on Wednesday, October 2nd at 6:30pm. Taking us on a Sensory Journey of their amazing whiskeys is National Brand Ambassador Caryn Wells and Mountain States GM, Sam Whedon.

Green River Distillery (DSP-KY-10) began distilling whiskey in 1885 becoming the 10th oldest distillery in Kentucky. Becoming one of the most popular whiskeys in the US, it was so popular that 20 barrels were once traded for interest in a Colorado gold mine that panned out, earning Green River the title “most expensive spirit or whiskey ever sold”. The distillery eventually stops distribution and closes in 1955. Reconstruction of Green River starts in 2014, with distillation beginning again in 2016. 139 years after opening, we are going to get to learn more history about this unique distillery and taste their bourbons and whiskeys.
