About the event

Many people who came from Europe to settle the United States during the late 1600's to early 1800's, were farmers or had a farming background. Families, especially the women, would make beer or other spirits for family use and to earn extra money by selling to others. Those coming from northern Europe, who used primarily barley in their beer and spirits, soon discovered that barley didn't grow in the areas they were settling. The grain that was growing in the northern parts of the U.S. was rye. Thus Rye Whiskey was born and became extremely popular until the early 1900's. Luckily we have seen a resurgence of this spirit in the last 20 years.

Join us for our next Women's Whiskey Club to learn the history of Rye Whiskey and taste through a variety of Ryes. As you sip through different whiskeys, you'll nose and taste different flavors based on…
